Refurbished TV, no audio when unboxed. Sony at least (eventually) fixed it under warranty but it was clear when the service person finally turned up that the audio ports on the board were damaged and this should have been obvious if the refurbishment process actually checked everything. Also one of the screws connecting the board to the chassis was missing. Glad it’s supported by warranty and is a great TV but lack of care makes me cautious to buy Sony again. No response via eBay at any point.

Sony XR55A80J OLED - Best TV image ever…
My new Sony XR55A80J has simply the best quality image of any TV I’ve ever owned. The Sony replaces my 14yo Pioneer LX508A and it’s back then best in class exemplary plasma image with deepest blacks. The Pioneer is still going strong and never missed a beat, however, the old digital tuner, no smart features including streaming meant it was time to upgrade. While the LG C1 has an equally great OLED picture, I found the Sony’s slightly better brightness and XR processor, innovative active screen speaker quality and Google TV operating system sealed the deal for me. I also got a great deal direct from Sony bettering LG’s current pricing.My new Sony XR55A80J has simply the best quality image of any TV I’ve ever owned. Amazing value for OLED
Amazing value but out of box colour of the tv not as good as LG OLED. Have to really fiddle around to get your best colours for your eyes. Got it for $1,345 via eBay. The price you can’t beat so far for OLED though, even LG can’t do that yet!
